With a career spanning nearly 25 years in the HVAC industry, Derek has taken on a fundamental role within the Testing and Commissioning Association Inc. as Secretary.

Derek is the founder and director of FastWorks HVAC. He has previously worked for numerous national and international companies and has been instrumental in the furthering of TAB training in Australia through his volunteering with several local and overseas training and accreditation organisations.

In 2008 Derek launched what was to become Western Australia’s largest testing and balancing company and the first to commit to independently certified standards. Olsen Environment was sold in 2019 and still serves the local industry today.

His passion and creativity, combined with his HVAC industry experience, led Derek to develop several TAB productivity software products. His flagship product “XOperative TAB” won the 2016 AIRAH product of the year.

Derek is now bringing his innovative mindset and industry experience to the Testing and Commissioning Association!
