Daniel’s career began some 16 years ago, as an apprentice refrigeration and air conditioning mechanic at a family operated mechanical company on the Sunshine Coast. Responsible for the commissioning of all projects and without any senior commissioning technicians to ask the hard questions, he was largely self-taught. This assimilation into the industry resulted in Daniel quickly developing a broad technical knowledge-base and the ability to provide solutions to complex technical problems on his feet.

In 2015, Daniel had an opportunity to join AE Smith QLD as part of the Commissioning Management team for the $1.8 billion Sunshine Coast University Hospital project, where he gained valuable management experience. During this time, he became a National Environmental Balancing Bureau (NEBB) TAB Certified Professional.

Daniel is now the Managing Director of Building Environment Solutions (BES), which was established in 2016 as an independent testing and commissioning company.

Since commencing with BES, Daniel has gone on to gain his NEBB Building Envelope Testing certification, as well as his Air Tightness Testing & Measurement Assoc. (ATTMA) Level 1 Tester certification in 2021.

BES provide a broad range of commissioning and pressure testing services and have completed numerous high-profile projects throughout Queensland and interstate. Daniel, and BES have earnt immense respect amongst their clients, consultants, ICA’s and builders with their relentless approach to quality and innovation.

It is Daniel’s drive for quality and innovation and his great reputation in the industry that make him an ideal fit with the TACA team. He is enthusiastic to contribute to the betterment of our industry and to be an ambassador for upholding integrity within it.
